We use these in many rooms in the house to keep little pieces together, particularly toys. They are a little small for many of our toys (though they do have bigger sizes that we are thinking about buying) since they are 6x9x4.5, but we like that the kids can see through them to know what they need to get or put away. We put things like decks of cards, small blocks or balls, manipulatives, etc. in each bin. They stack neatly on our shelves and meet our needs well. We have found that they hold the cartridges and books to some of the electronic games/readers/etc. fairly well also.
The tops seem to be flimsy, but so far, even after almost a year of use, we haven't broken any of them. The boys (4yo and almost 2yo) can carry them around, stack them, put them on the shelves, and basically manage them all by themselves, which is GREAT! It took a little while for the youngest to get used to closing the flaps correctly, but he eventually got it and has no trouble now.
We also use these in our entry to put things in that need to be returned, given to others, put back in the car, etc. They are not too big but they are a size that allows for more than one item in each box. I could also see using these to organize CDs and maybe even photos.
Overall, we are very pleased and now have (literally) about 20 of them throughout the house. We are even considering more based on our growing needs.
